We are officially a 501(c)(3)!

Hello everyone,
We had some very exciting information come in this week! We have been approved as a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) Public Charity in the U.S. This means all contributions to our Loaves and Fishes program are tax deductible, retroactive to July 30th, 2012.
It took a little while, but we are very excited to finally have this official status. Moving forward, it means we will be able to apply for some grants and support that we didn’t qualify for before. We also remember that some of you donors mentioned that your companies might be able to match gifts that were given to a 501(c)(3) so we are excited about that. Those two things in combination with the generous donations from all of you should make some pretty aggressive expansion in our feeding, education, and extracurricular programs possible over the next few years.
Clarification: This only applies to donations that have been sent to our office in Texas. GBGM is already tax deductible and donations left here in Costa Rica still will not be deductible.

Thank you all for your continued generosity in allowing us to support the people of Costa Rica. This new status truly will allow us to expand our horizons and support many more children and families.
